Update on proposed PSE&G Transmission Line
- Hardwick is one of the 16 New Jersey municipalities impacted by the proposed Susquehanna-Roseland Transmission project. Of the 16 impacted municipalities, a total of seven (Hardwick included) have filed for Intervener Status and formed a Coalition to ensure that our concerns regarding the many impacts of this major initiative are heard and addressed. The Coalition meets every two weeks to develop and implement strategies to protect our interests regarding this project.

Here are the steps we've taken to date:

          - hired a law firm to represent us in the on-going legal manuvering
          - secured a $300,000 escrow from PSE&G
          - hired a Public Relations firm for communication and to lobby on our behalf
          - reached out to impacted municipalities who did not file as Intervenors
          - invited those municipalities to participate in the Coalition
          - participated in BPU field visits in Hardwick, Fredon and East Hanover
          - included Superintendent of DWGNRA in Coalition discussions
          - arranged meetings with municipal, county, state elected officials
          - met with editorial boards of newspapers to increase press coverage
          - arranged meeting with NJ Consumer Advocate's Office
          - currently discussing other methods to inform the general public
          - contacted FAA and local airports in impacted locations

Future updates regarding the project and the efforts of the Coalition will be posted on this site.
